The Little Bee Eater at Saadani National Park is a bird species that is commonly found in the park. It is a vibrant and beautiful bird that catches the eye of visitors and bird enthusiasts alike. As its name suggests, the Little Bee Eater feeds mainly on bees and other insects, which it can catch in mid-air with great agility and speed.

The Little Bee Eater is a small bird, approximately 18cm in length, with a green back, yellow throat, and red-brown breast. Its wings and tail feathers are adorned with striking patterns of turquoise and black, which make it a truly mesmerizing sight.

The bird is usually found singly or in pairs, perched on low branches or wires, and darting out to catch its prey with swift, swooping movements. Visitors to Saadani National Park can often spot these beautiful birds along the park’s riverbanks or near its open savannah grasslands.

In addition to being a beautiful species to spot on a safari, the Little Bee Eater plays an important role in the park’s ecosystem. Its diet helps to keep bee populations in check, which in turn contributes to the health and preservation of floral species in the park.
